Painting, video documentation
The work of Yulia Shalygina “Experience of living in the moment” is part of the series of the same name, which examines the connection between virtuality and reality. In it, Julia discovers new ways of migration, mental movement. The author lived it with the help of virtual maps, where she glided through the streets of her native Krasnoyarsk and snatched random moments recorded by the Google-maps machine on panoramas. The impassive camera was not looking for a spectacular angle or a “beautiful” shot, it was shooting casual everyday life with visual and color distortions, blurry figures of people, dogs and wastelands. Yulia’s participation in the Ryabushinsky Dacha summer art residence, for a number of reasons, turned out to be possible only online. Thus, the idea was born to continue the series, but in new circumstances. The work created for our project remains a kind of journey, searching for the “right” moment and place, living it. Such a moment-place was a winter view of the Tsna River, where google technology connected two seasons and summer colors entered the winter landscape. A person will never be able to see the shore like this live, this moment can only be lived online.
